Black Near-Fewspot Pintaloosa
(per "The Appaloosa Project" 9/11)

"Voltimore" is a 100% pure, Argentine lines Falabella, a black near-fewspot Pintaloosa colt--having the most beautiful fewspot appaloosa markings as well as showing the pinto "splash" traits of stockings and blue eyes. He also has outstanding conformation. As a near-fewspot his color patterns indicate that he should be a 100% color pattern producer in his breeding career, like his sire. This is something that Castle Rock has waited a long time to have in its Falabella program.

"Volt" is a direct son of TOYLAND TAMBORO, an outstanding incomplete expression of a leopard patterned Appaloosa with lightning marks on his legs (also per "The Appaloosa Project"), sired by TOYLAND PORTENTOSO. Tamboro's grandsire is PORTENTO, a black-blanketed appaloosa, with large black spots, out of GROSSHILL'S COMOFIN, a 29" black leopard appaloosa, purchased for $50,000 by the Grosshill Farm, who traveled to Argentina to choose a stallion, and imported him from Argentina. VOLT has the "LOOK AT ME!!" presence, and we may try him out in the show ring before using him as a herd sire. BUT WHAT A SIRE HE WILL BE!!!!

Volt's dam, DD FANTASIA, is a gorgeous, refined, Arabian-type bay leopard Pintaloosa (visual appaloosa) mare, the daughter of FALABELLA AF DON DIEGO, a beautiful liver chestnut pinto bred by Angelica Falabella, and imported from Argentina to her U.S. farm. DD is out of Sreenan's Amora -- a black Pintaloosa mare from the legendary CHIANTI and Regina Winery lines.
