Darn it, I miss cut one piece of the hearts fabric, so will need to adjust the pattern a little bit, which doesn't look as nice.   On the search for a piece of that fabric, but I'm not going to hold my breath, since it's an older fabric.    I might have to make the stars and heart section smaller then add borders to make the right size.   I'll give it a few days to find a piece of the fabric, then will likely need to adjust my pattern.  [Perhaps 3x3 with borders or 3x4; instead of 4x4.]

  Colors aren't true green or blue in the horse print, and the "green" is lime or neon like, so here are the fabrics I picked, and the yellow will either be used very lightly or not at all, just depends on the pattern I find.  And, your son won't want it, as it will have purple in it.

Weather is iffy today, so I'm going to stay home and skip this month's quilt guild meeting, but I will be sewing this afternoon.  Plan to get Ryan's top done or as close as possible and start the next project.  I'll see about going to the monthly sewing day, to put the layers together so I can quilt it.

Once I get a harness and cart, a quilt like one of these would be right up my alley!! How long have you been quilting Chanda? What got you interested?

Also you mentioned weather....what's it look like there?

THE HECK WITH MY SON!!!  THIS ONE IS FOR ME!!!!!  And I like all the colors you are showing, and the yellow is pretty, and whatever green you find will be pretty, too, and is fine with me!

I'll have more orders, I'm sure, over the course of 2017 -- but decided I want this one for me.  I gave the other quilt I had chosen for myself to one of my daughters-in-law who gave me that wonderful "colt", so I'm replacing my "empty chair" for myself!

I'm attaching a new picture of my last "colt" - who will be 3 months old on the 6th.  He's come a long way since his arrival at 4 pounds 6 ounces, and is growing just fine having doubled his birth weight!

I'm not sure the quilt will need green added with the five colors already picked, don't want to get too carried away (perhaps a green backing).

I've been quilting somewhere around 15 years, my piecing skills are a bit better than my quilting skills (I still go with basic straight line stitching; as I want them to hold together, be a bit fluffy, and for me the piecing is more important).  Some years I do quite a bit of quilting, other years I don't get anything done.   I'm not exactly sure how I got started, other than there isn't much to do around here in the winter (lots of dark hours to find something to do, and lots of cold).
It's single digits at the moment with a bit of snow falling.

Not sure I like this pattern for this project.  I made up a few block and just laid them on the uncut focus fabric. 
Don't be afraid to say this isn't the pattern for you.  The colors are good, just not sure if this is the right pattern.

180, I think I have a new pattern, that second one I posted I think will work, and it showcases the horses, rather than distracting.

Thank you.  I was on the fence and asked a few quilt and artsy friends, we all agree the second will showcase the horses better.
