2021 - just checking in...

Just thought I'd check in and see how the first few days of the new year are treating you.
Nothing new here.  So far, a mild winter; except for a couple weeks in October, it's been very mild.
Time to do bookwork and prepare for tax time.  Yes, it would probably be easier if I did it as we go, but I'm great at procrastinating.

Nothing new here, except I'm on the waiting list at the local hospital for the Covid Vaccination.  I missed the first cycle locally, but they are getting a new supply in a few days, they said today when they called.  So, looking forward to getting the call from them to schedule a day and time for the vaccination, I hope for next week!!

Other than that, nothing new going on except the "cold" weather here with nights in the low 40's / high 30's.  Still warming up to the high 60's-70's during the day, so still very nice weather.  We still have some rain, but not as bad as during the rainy season.

Where is everyone?    We've been soo quiet.
Mild winter here, about time to start my bookwork for the tax man, well probably past due, I always procrastinate.  Our appointment is next month, as ag books get done early.

Certainly has been quiet.  We need some updates on everyone and our mares that are getting fatter!!

Got my COVID vaccination on Monday, the 11th!!  VERY happy, as Florida's Governor has made it so easy for everyone to get it that is 65 and over, as well as the first responders, health care workers, etc.  He even partnered with Publix -- one of the main grocery stores in Florida -- to give vaccinations.  Here you can make appointments  at the Hospitals or other places and have almost NO wait time.  I think mine took a total of 5 minutes from registration/paperwork to the shot.  The longest wait time was the 15 minutes they made you sit around after the shot to make sure there was no reaction, AND I already have my appointment and time for the 2nd vaccination.  So I am very happy as my daughters will relax a bit once I've had the second one, and let me move around outside my home more!  I just pray that everyone can move ahead and get the vaccine to be safe from this horrid disease!

Is it the weekend, yet?   I always mix up the timing, but I think Ryan is ahead of us.   It's now 9am Saturday, here.

Morning all, yes I am in front . It?s 10:50 am Monday morning . Sorry the weekend got away from me , we had to start clearing some old pine trees to replace a fence and it took the whole day . I?m on my phone so excuse the weird punctuation and spelling, for some reason my phone always likes at add weird comas etc.

We had a great Christmas , it was very quiet due to covid and numbers permitted in the home here.
The weather has been crazy , last year it was so hot , this year has been so mild. I have never seen so much grass in paddocks for this time of the year . I?m grateful that there is no fires and no smoke this year . My two little girls have been visiting there boyfriend so fingers crossed one of them is in foal. I will get them tested shortly to confirm . We have one TB mare confirmed pregnant she?s about 70 days along so only early yet.

I?ll touch base with u both on the PM as soon as I can get onto my laptop , so hard to type on the phone 😊

Thanks Chanda!  That's Tejano, trying on his Chimacum Tack Whiteman harness that he got for Christmas.

Starting 1 January, he and the dogs escort me on my walks up and down in front of the house.  They're having to learn how to walk nicely beside my rolling walker.  They're also learning how to maneuver the turns, and not to go too fast just because it has wheels.  Though IT scoots right along.....I don't. 

For 2021, I'm planning my flower garden.  I'm staying very small this year, as I'm trying to develop a niche market for people with allergies and  migraines.  I'm hoping to be able to provide beautiful blooms to people who might not ordinarily be able to enjoy them.

Those are my two focuses this year.  What's everyone else up to?  Do we have any mares to watch this year??
