NMHR - late vent...

(1/1)

Chanda:
My washing machine quite mid-load a week ago, yesterday.  Got it drained, started looking around for new machine, called the local store, and she thought it sounded like a "dead" lid switch, which can be replaced, so we decided to try that. [In the meantime, I had to haul three loads of laundry to my in laws to wash, of course it broke at the beginning of a wash day.]  She thought she had the switch in stock, so we picked it up Tuesday when we were in town, it was the wrong switch, they ordered the right switch, had to wait for it to come in (supplier won't ship direct), store was going to send it out with mail delivery (our carrier lives in town) they forgot, so Mom picked it up at the store yesterday, and we went to town for supper last night and picked it up at Mom's.   Shayne just got it installed, and the first test load is in the machine, so far, so good, it's running.   [We didn't touch the drain or anything, so should be good to go.]

Anna:
Just what you need!  Hope it stays working from now on.

dcwolcott:
Hope that is the perfect fix!!!   ;pray

Chanda:
It was kind of nice...  The store recommend fixing my 16-17 year old machine rather than just buying new, said the older machines were better built.  Not often does a store talk themselves out of a sale.  ;)
The part is under $50, a new basic machine is over $400.
