Coat Colour?
« on: October 02, 2017, 03:52:01 AM »
I haven't yet introduced the newest addition to the family (excluding Piper).

Everybody, meet Lou-Lou, I've owned her for a bit over a month, but known her very well since 2013. Shes Willow's daughter, and came to live on our property in 2013, belonging to family friends. She left in 2015 when she went back to our friend's parents, but due to her owners health issues they decided to sell her, our family friends couldn't take her and being Willow's daughter I decided to buy her. Her facial features resemble Willow's so much, and with Willow getting age on her, I think it will be special to have her daughter.

I just wanted to ask your opinions on her colour, I can't find photos of her father, but know he was a chestnut pinto.
The photos are from 2013-14, one from winter and 2 from summer.  :)

Top two pictures she looks silver black, usually referred to as Taffy in Australia.   I can't explain the paler color in the other pictures.

Thank you  ;D It's been bugging me not knowing what colour to call her, I've been calling her 'a creamy-browney colour with dapples'
Ryan, all the pics are of are Lou Lou, and the last one is both Lou Lou and Willow,  Willow is on the left   :)

I'm useless with colours but have to say that she's very attractive and I'm glad that you decided to buy her.

Thank you  ;D I'm happy that I got her as well, shes around 9hh and she will make a good lead line pony with Kevin.

Although when she left in 2015, I am fairly sure they hadn't trimmed her hooves at all. Our friends went out to see her before we came to pick her up and trimmed her very long hooves right back as far as they could go, they don't know how to trim hooves either.. So when we went to get her she was VERY sore on her feet and struggled to walk. My farrier has been slowly correcting them, I don't feel comfortable putting kids on her yet, I'd rather wait until shes back to normal.   :)

But its a plan for the future, Kevin and her are so beautiful together!
