Glad she has warmed to the senior feed. Sorry the cows got in and demolished the hay.

You never know , she may start warming slowly to your feed over time. Shes probably in that stage of "seeing potential new friends" and the "where am I " :)

She's still in quarantine at the moment, so the senior feed will work.   When she moves over to the mare pen, she'll probably be more inclined to eat the extruded rather than miss out, as the girls share a meal once daily, so if you snooze, you lose.
[They also get one meal daily in their stalls, so each can get any specific supplements they might be on.]

I was filling out her transfer and thinking of her possible pregnancy, looks like she might be a 10 monther...   Her first was 6-03-11 the next was 5-10-12, only about 11 months apart, so either she took foal heat and goes 11 months, or took next one and goes 10 months.

Dewormed everyone for Tapes today.
I expected Sophia to be difficult to catch, per previous owner's experience and being difficult to catch when I went to see her, but she wasn't bad, she made a half-hearted attempt to run circles around me, but I spoke softly and said whoa and she listened.   She was also good for her deworming.

Probably helped she's currently by herself, so no other horses to feed off of and get worried or excited because they are.

Sounds as though she's settling in Chanda and certainly becoming more confident with you than with her previous owner.  :)

Thank you.  Time will tell, we'll see how she acts when with the other girls.

So far, so good.
I think the bum calf is drinking her water, as her 6 gallon tub is empty every morning, my others don't drink that much, so I think the calf is sticking his head through the fence and drinking her water.  If I move the tub it's not convenient to fill, so I'll just fill every morning for now.
I might go ahead and move her this up coming Sunday, so she is next to the mares and can get to know them.  It'll only be two weeks quarantine, but she came from a clean place, so I think we'll be ok with just two weeks.

Just a couple more days til Sophia moves around to a pen next to the girls and can get to know them through safe panels before introductions in the same pen.    My current mare herd all nicely share hay from one round bale feeder, so it'll be convenient if she'll share nice with everyone else, but I'll probably need to toss out a couple extra piles for awhile just to be certain.

Moved Sophia over next to the mare pen, today.   Mostly they stood around staring at each other, the only one moving was Bliss (the yearling).   All seemed pretty calm.   mostly calm at supper too, only Bliss having a fit, she was racing all over the place, she must be worried that she is no longer the princess of the place.   ;D
