Daisy girl
« on: March 09, 2017, 10:05:47 AM »
Just wanted to share that our Daisy girl is 9 days past first day of possible breeding! We should know with in a couple of weeks if we will be expecting the pitter patter of tiny paws!
Being that our Great Pyrenees are more active at night, and that we woke up to Bear having jumped into Daisy's pen on more than one occasion.
So far, the only changes we've noticed is Daisy has decided that she is eating a bit more than normal which is good as she tends to be more on the lean side.
If she is bred we should be expecting  puppies the first week of May.
Picture is from end of week 1.

Yea I am pretty excited. Pet co had a sale and I got 10 puppy collars, cost me about 15$!!! I loaded up on healthy treats too...
Meanwhile Daisy is getting extra spoiled and we made her a 10 x 10 area on the porch just for her.she d has decided Bear isn't allowed and guess what.... He isn't even trying lol!
Already have a big kiddy pool with blankets, and a fan too.

I was all excited about writing to ask for an update. Then, I felt like a dork when I realized it's only been 10 days. Can't expect puppies that fast, now can I?!

I think Holly is quite busy discovering unexpected pregnancies. I vote we send her to Chanda's, to rub her lucky hands on Baybe. :-)

Fortunately in dogs changes happen pretty quickly!
Daisy has started to get a tummy bump, so hoping it's a sign of things to come!

Doncha just love that 63 day gestation?? LOL

Looks like a nice belly bump with 8 or 9 puppies that could be easily palpated. Better load up on the towels!

Weekly update. Day 24. Daisy tummy growing bigger. Still can't hear puppies on Doppler, so no confirmation yet... But tummy looks very suspicious.

:o :oTook me a second to translate this from British English to American English!  :o :o  I'd be interested in seeing that Doppler machine, and have you tell us how/why you acquired it. What all do you use it on? I hear Doppler...I think weather radar.  :)) :))

Ll! I bought a baby com fetal Doppler about 10 yrs ago.it can be used in small animals. We've heard dogs goat and human heart beats with it.
There are better dopplers available now.
I've not tried it on equine as you must have cleared skin for it to work properly.
Poor Daisy now has a shaved tummy! But I expect to hear heartbeats soon.
