Title: ouch that smarts...
Post by: Chanda on September 27, 2017, 09:15:53 PM
Holy crap that hurt, I stepped off my feed shed porch badly and wrenched my ankle.  I thought I was going to die when it  happened, but it doesn't feel too bad now.  I can walk on it, and have full extension of my ankle; although turning it to the one side does smart a bit.    I step off the side of my little porch on an almost daily basis without issue, not so tonight.   [No picture of my little building, so you could see the porch.]

I'm sorry you hurt yourself.  So often things like that happen when we're "doing what we usually do".  I remember years ago, I was taking my laundry out to the clothesline, stepped off the back porch steps and "whammo!"

Finished hanging my laundry and hobbled over to my parents house next door and had my dad take me to the ER.  Turned out I broke most of the weight-bearing bones in my foot.  Just a simple step down and break, break, break.

Please take care, and make sure you're okay.  Praying it heals quickly and well!       ;pray ;pray

Pretty sure no major damage done.   I can walk without pain, just a little bit of discomfort.   There is a bit of swelling on the outside of my ankle.   I have almost full range of motion.

Hope you recover completely very soon Chanda. I know full well how easily these little accidents can happen - they seem to happen more often the older you get as well LOL!
That sounds really nasty Diane - ouch!

Feeling much better.  Still need to see the chiropractor, but that's a different issue.  Didn't want to see the chiro til we were done with the big fencing project, so now that that's done, time to try to get into the chiro.  My MIL also goes to see him, so it'll probably be next week before we see about getting in, as she just had a dental today, so not up for chiro too.

I once fell off a beer keg (whilst working). I was stacking some Beer on one of the top shelves and being that it was in a cool room , it was a tad slippery and down I went. Ankle swelled like a baseball.

Do you usually go to the Chiro ? I was seeing one till I hurt myself. I always felt better after seeing the chiro and always slept well after an adjustment .

Glad your on the mend :)

That sounds like a drinking story...

If I lived closer to town, I'd probably see the chiro more often, but as it's a 50 mile drive, I only get there once a month on average.  I usually feel better after, and do sleep very well that night.

It sure does, I only wish I could say it was. I was supposed to be standing on the grip ladder , but learned a valuable mistake cause I was too lazy to go and get it.

That is quite the drive , How often do you do a food shop? if it was me id try to make the shop last the month !

I shop weekly or every other.  I go to town with my MIL, we take turns driving.
