Everyone has settled in just fine now. I have started my paperwork and am double checking to be sure I do it correctly this year :)
Dream is  a pocket pony. Follows and loves attention. Storm is sweet, but a bit skittish. We are working on building trust. In just a few days he has made progress.

Looking forward to seeing how your little farm grows.  Storm looks like a nice boy. How nice that Dream is a pocket pony!

Makes one wonder....do the names define the creature....or do we, as humans, inadvertently shape them to match their names? *scratching head emoji here*

Holly, will anyone have the chance to be bred to him this year?  I can't quite remember if you said he arrived in time for a next spring baby or not.

He's a handsome boy for sure!

Yes! Sassy is in foal for next year. And we bred Kate too. I have a friend who wanted a small foal from Kate for his daughter. So we special ordered one for her.they will both be foaling a week or so apart next year!
I am glad you asked as it reminds me of a question I've had on my mind.
Dream is coming 2 and I've wondered when I can safely breed her.

How big is Dream?
Larger mares, at least 3; I know some breed at 2, but I don't.   Smaller mares or immature mares, at least 4.

I safely bred the majority of my 2 year old mares, but they had to have a good foaling hip, and show more of a maturity in their manners and handling.  There were some that just didn't fit the bill, so I didn't breed them until they were older.  I was also very careful to breed the maidens to stallions that wouldn't produce "chunky" foals for a first time momma -- chose stallions that I knew produced smaller, more "stream-lined" offspring.  Then I fed the mommas carefully, making sure they had good nutrition, but kept them a little "lean", and made sure they got good exercise during their last trimester, to build up their strength for the hard job ahead.

I'm excited to see we're having babies!!!  Can't wait!

Dream is built very similar to precious and is very close to her size as a coming 2. She is pretty mature in attitude. I don't mind waiting another year. So far I've been able to track her cycles and keep them separated. I hope to be able to do that come breeding season. I worry more about accidental breeding because I am not set up for permanent separation.mine all run as a herd and short term separation is doable just not long term.pics are Dream then her and Storm together

There are a few minnow and sunfish. The ponies have access to clean fresh water but prefer to go to pond... Not sure why!

Holly, I'd be willing to bet that, in a horse's opinion, the pond is the cleaner fresher water. It's been naturally filtered with no added chemicals to *purify* it. Unless you're on a well....then they just want to keep you humble!! 😂😂😂😂😂

Holly, Marty fixed the problem, so you can now upload the video of that handsome boy!!  If videos are much larger than this, they still may not load, but he's got it up as a test, and thought you might want to add it here as well!

Yes, he does seem to be able to step right out. Do you have a pedigree that you can share? I LIKE reading pedigrees. 😎😎

Yes. The video is from previous owner. She slowed it down.
