I recently had to help my cousin put a poultice onto the front hoof of her horse that recently stood on a nail. It was starting to heal then he started to go lame again. So I decided a an Epsom salt Poultice would help to draw the infection out.
As she wasn't overly confident of applying it correctly , i said that Id show her in case any of her horses decided to get an abscess with the hot wet weather we are having.
"Can you get me your first aid kit please" "I dont have a first aid kit" was her response........................Oh dear :)
So off we went to the produce store to start one.
So my question is " Whats in your general first aid Kit" ??
In mine I keep the following :-
Animalintex
Epsom Salts
Cotton wool roll
Bute
Scissors
Bandages
Self adhesive bandages
Duck tape
tweezers
Iodine solution
Cetrigen ( purple spray)
White healer (teatree based antiseptic cream)
Prednoderm
On the wall above the cabinet is the Number for the vet, farrier and dentist.
What other items are in your first aid Kits ?
