Sorry Yall its been 2 weeks today, and I have hardly been on, been catching up an a lot of stuff around the house and barn and now time to catch up here!
I miss visiting with yall!!
Ok so now on to topic question....
Pinto or possible pintaloosa?
-
Such perfect circles! What do the hooves look like? Any mottling or sclera? Of course it's early yet, but those round dots are quite something.
Yes, I've been wondering where you went! Thought you fell off the planet! I miss you.
And since it's been such a long time, new pictures are required, of course!!
-
I know nothing of how appy works.
-
I will get new pics tomorrow.... for now some eye pics....still look gray or possibly LP/ptrn1?
-
Oh sorry... also 4 white legs so white hooves, but has a round spot on leg too at the knee.....
Diane, strange is her skin has spots but the hair coming out is white.
-
When I was breeding my appys 90 percent of them had the striped hooves, and mottled face. That being said I did have a few with niether of those so! Haha

Most times, they are either completely recognizable as appaloosa (visual spots), or they will be solid looking (or pinto spotted), and you won't see true appaloosa markings until the mature a bit. Few of the pintaloosas are born with mottling or sclera, but it develops in a few weeks/months or begins to show signs that make you do a double-take.
I am suspicious, especially if they are on the skin only, but growing out white hair instead of the black you would expect from a black spot. Most times, that's how a fewspot is -- they look totally unspotted, until you shave them down, and see all the spots on the skin. So, I'm going to watch with interest!

That is exactly what another friend said after I told her the spots had white hair. If it was a pinto spot such as an ink or paw print wouldn't it have black hair?
I took a picture of the spot on her leg I found, it also is hidden by white hair, but is half on that calloused area thing and it's half black...
-
Sorry here it is
-
Also here is the pictures of the white hairs above the eyes, not sure if caused by gray or appy
-
Yes, the paw prints would be in the black color. I'm really interested in seeing what these do in the next several weeks!

Better picture of leg spot shaved, also has white hair over it. Ears also have sprinkle of white hair....shaved her head, still can't decide if going gray or Lp ptrn1 at work.....pulled hair, but haven't sent in yet.... starting to lean back towards gray....
