Title: Prayers please!
Post by: Chanda on March 09, 2018, 08:06:57 PM
Prayers for strength for my MIL; my FIL passed away early yesterday morning, he had been battling cancer for a couple years.  Half the time, physically you couldn't have guessed he was as sick as he was.  Wednesday morning he was fixing a window or door in the barn, late afternoon he was on his way to the hospital and he passed 1:25AM March 8.
He was a horseman from probably the time he could walk (rode, drove teams, castrated his own colts, trained saddle horses and driving horses), he was 82-83 years old, my inlaws celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last summer, he was 14 years older than she, so she's still pretty spunky.   There won't be a service til spring, as he wants his ashes scattered on the ranch, and much of the access road to where he wanted is under 2-3' of drifted in snow, and spring will be easier for family and friends to come.
Thanks.
P.S.  I'm fine, really.  Hubby is typical guy, very stoic.

Thank you, Diane.
Today, the trip to town was primarily for making arrangements with the mortuary.  Very nice place and very understanding employees.

Fifty years.....wow.  What a terrible adjustment she's having to make.  Shane as well....there are such mixed feelings after a long illness...I hope neither he nor your MIL have any regrets.  He'll always be a part of the home place, having his ashes scattered there.  This is how I hope to end my days as well.  Feeding the place that fed, nurtured and supported me while I was here.

;pray  You have my prayers, and the prayers of our prayer chain, heading your way.  ;pray
