Goldie was washed out on 9th/10th/11th April. Covered 12th - 17th last cover very uninthusiastic. Covered again 25th April very happy stallion lol. Goldie still squatting and a small yellowish fluid, letting Banner mount and she would stand to cover but he is not interested at all, in fact he mounted and his lil banner didn't even distend then he went to eat. So last cover is 25th April.
-
AWESOME, and now the countdown begins!!! She is just beautiful!!
-
Im just worried, as always, about her weight. She is SO hard to keep any weight off. Realistically i should have her on a bare lot from march but its not practical all the time. Charm is very large too, but i can't justify dieting a pregnant mare lol and its not as if i am even letting them go wild, they get NO food but grass and hay. Nightmare. Banner is lovely, though. My gelding is still fat too. I give up i want thoroughbreds back lol
-
Shes such a lovely mare , I have my fingers crossed that she has taken for you. The combination of both her and Banner is very exciting :)
-
She is lovely, I too hope she took. My girls were always on the chubby side, that is what the grass does.
-
Beautiful Lady!
-
Keeping my fingers crossed for you, it should be a fab foal with two such beautiful/handsome parents.
-
i'm looking forward to seeing the result from the cross.
Countdown....
Hey Diane - we need some type of countdown clock Icon... Or something?
-
I'll ask Marty to upload some more icons for us! He's fabulous!!
-
I'll ask Marty to upload some more icons for us! He's fabulous!!
COOL!! Think he can find the horse plunger one - pulling the foal out? That is SOOOOO cool (well, i think it's appropriate). We had it on the American Shetland Pony Forum - years ago, before the Forum "died out"... Miss that one, but there were times that people were just flat out argumentative and then a lot of folk went to FB and it disappeared. I had a copy of all the icons on our website and then lost my website thru a weird "SNAFU". Still don't have all the info from our website (working on that).
Rocklone - I still like that mare! She's not too round, so I wouldn't worry about it. Exercise (driving) during the pregnancy can help her to get fit/strong - even if she's a bit "fluffy"...
-
Marty said if you want any particular one, you can send it to him and he'll upload it for us. Find it, right click on it and save it, then send it to him and he'll load it. And we'll find some more, as there are so many available!
-
Ok first time Goldie seen banner since 25th and she is wetting herself so they're out together. I think this is her first proper season rather than transition ones. Can't say what day it is cause I was away until Friday and only able to check her with him today.
They will be out every day until she rejects him now so fingers crossed!
(Only issue is she's now quite fat cause she was out when I was on holiday)
-
Can't wait to hear things were successful!! Crossed fingers here!
-
Fingers crossed she settles!
-
crossing my fingers too ;pray
-
What a confusing mare! Watching them in the pasture and Goldies following him about tail up bum down but bucking any time he actually Mounts and tries to penetrate. Such a tease! He gets a bit too excited and does mount once without doing anything and this always annoys her so she then won't let him cover for ages until he is nice yet still teases him! Lol
-
She must be a Frank Sinatra lover.....remember the song?
To think I did all that;
And may I say - not in a shy way,
"Oh no, oh no not me,
I did it my way".
;D
-
She must be a Frank Sinatra lover.....remember the song?
Lol!!!!!
To think I did all that;
And may I say - not in a shy way,
"Oh no, oh no not me,
I did it my way".
;D
-
Shes most definitely a sinatra lover! lol She drives me bonkers why would i want another of her.
-
Even if i don't end up with a foal from this, i'm having a real hoot watching these two! They go out in the morning and have their little spat (she teases him, he mounts, she gets cross and runs and he doesn't bother for the rest of the day) then as soon as they come in for dinner they hump like rabbits! I'm starting to think i'm an aphrodisiac.
Im getting such an insight into the behavior too. She is basically a floosy, always having her ass in his face and is definitely the one who initiates it and he will always "try" first so he can see how receptive she really is and how much work he has to do for it lol it could be seen as a cover if you were not aware of the after behaviors! After he is verrrrrrrrrrry relaxed and will stand with his ears down for a good few mins, but if its been a test he will continue to nip at her.
So fascinating!
-
Lol gotta love it!!
-
What a cool story! Gotta love those mares -- they keep EVERYONE hopping!!
Crossing my fingers she takes after all of this!
-
I wish i could keep them together 24/7 but its just not possible at the moment with her needing a little less grass and him needing shelter at night cause of clipping. I keep them in the stable for a while in the evening, which is where they seem to do most of the actions, but after a while she irritates him and he starts to kick out at her. She can take it well, im more worried about her turning and kicking him esp if he has his man hood out lol! So it is a kind of half pasture half supervised covering.
I have read that more than once floods the uterus, but stallions know best and won't ejectulate in a mare whos past or indeed too much before ovulating (and he is very experienced as previous experience shows) so lots of humping is normal even if its not actual covering.
Im not comfortable leaving them in the stable together at night knowing they do buck a bit, so maybe if she comes in again it will be warmer and they can be out 24/7!
-
A friend of mine had an Arabian stallion that would literally either "fall asleep" or pass out while still mounted on the mare. If she shifted her hindquarters, he'd really hit the ground pretty hard - often on his side not standing up. Got to the point, he was always hand bred so that they could pull him away safely before he "passed out". Seems this is a common occurrence in some horses/breeds...
The first time I experienced this it was quite scary to have 1000 lbs of horse hit the ground in a crumpled mass (really scary if you were right there next to the pair as I was!!). After, it's a bit funny to joke about, sort of. But it's not something you ever forget.
Iggy used to "nap" while on the mare after completing "his duty" (breeding). He'd let out a sigh and close his eyes for a little bit. Most of the mares would let him stay like that for a little while, then he'd wake up and do a sliding dismount and just remain at her rear quarters for a little while... On mares I knew to be a problem, I always hand bred him and pulled him clear before she'd start bucking and kicking. One mare, I routinely tied a hind leg up with a cowboy hobble (she could stand, but couldn't kick backwards enough to nail him in the genitals). We still own her and two of her gelded sons (at the moment) by Iggy. That mare was the worst hussy with him... Yet, like yours, always kicked/bucked/squalled in the "I'm gonna kill you" way - when he tried mounting - even when known to be ovulating.
-
So fun to read these stories about the different stallions and how they act! My heart horse, El Rey, was the most "genteel" of gentlemen, and always spoke to the ladies front on, then nibbles and nickered his way to the rear, and so nicely mounted, got the job done, stepped down, and went back to the head, all the time nickering and thanking the lady!!
Spotty, on the other hand, would talk as he took his position, got the job done, and just walked away until he decided it was time again.
I always trusted my stallions to know when to do their jobs, and never had a "miss" on mares I wanted bred.
But, I LOVE these stories!! Thumbs up!!
-
These two tend to do the deed, he slides down and she spins and sniffs his noodle. They're both too experienced lol and both very "do it then go away" but Goldie still loves to go over to make sure he knows shes still on. I have videos and pics cause i thought they were very informative.
-
Riot was always a gentleman, if a mare was wishy washy he would walk away. But when he knew they were ready he would do the same as yours and ask politely. Lol, Now Digby, he checks every mare every day... has no clue he is smaller than their foals!
-
Oh haha that reminds me, i put Banner and G out today, they were grazing and my neighbour randomly walked a mare down the lane (towards a road, nowhere to go) and back. Then put her in the paddock across the lane from us and stood watching. Obviously Banner was doing what a stallion would do, but soon settled when he knew he could not get near.
Bit of free teasing there!
Think she was in season, i had noticed her tail up a day or so ago myself. Hope they are waiting to cover her and not hoping she was in foal - they just lost a brood mare and had an orphan foal a few days ago :(
-
So sad, I hate to hear of a mare passing and leaving a foal behind...so sad!!
-
Wort nightmare really, they got a foster mare within mins (very well known foaling establishment) but still very sad. i don't know if it was a home mare or a client, though.
-
Yes, that's always sad. At least if I lost a mare -- and I've only lost one to a bad dystocia that the vet and I worked on for hours. Then, I just looked in her eyes, and knew she just wanted to go. So, I let her leave.
But, so sad when a foal is left behind.
-
How are the antic in your barn?
Katie ( and Kate) are both out so hoping Katie has settled...
Fingers crossed we both get foals next year!
-
Sorry to hear about your neighbours mare, so very sad!
Rocklone your two sound like they need their own soap opera. lol
I had a stallion on loan for a while ( darn nightmare of a horse )that would only mate at night, it took me a while to realise that that was the reason he wouldn't go near the girls during the day. He was the loudest stallion I have ever met, he would scream the house down when the girls went near him. Crazy dude! lol
These boys sure can be funny.
My Eagle was an absolute gentleman too Diane, he would ask nicely for permission and would also say thank you after too. lol That little guy taught me a lot, he sure was a pleasure to own and work with.
-
Just a little update. Goldie still on but very creamy dioscharge which someone told me means she's ovulated and clearing the uterus ready for pregnancy which would explain why there was no covering that I saw today. Can't wait until she goes out so I can wash her she's always a very smelly mare (I can smell when she's in heat!!!)
-
I've not noticed any cover in two days. Goldie was showing but nothing ever happened and she wasn't following as much. I was able to leave them stalled last night cause she wasn't pestering him and he then didn't have to tel her to back off. The wait begins!
-
Such a beautiful pair!!
-
Sooo cute! Fingers crossed!!
-
That last picture is the cutest !
-
Crossing my fingers for you that Goldie has settled in foal! When will you have her checked?
LOVE the pic - they don't even look like real horses - but little models you've set up for pics! Especially Goldie...
-
I am going to check her when I'm sure she's settled cause she's a funny sort. She will cover then not cover again but not be pregnant or at least that's happened in the past.
She is also a real floosy she loves to have a stallion about. She ran up to banner today and roared her head off, lifted her tail and peed in excitement because she had not seen him for a few hours! Lol
-
Some of these ladies are such hussies!!
-
I love that pic! they will make an awesome baby.
-
So far goldie is showing no signs of being in season. Its been exactly 21 days since i first put her back with banner. I don't generally get too excited by her though!
I'm not sure if i should scan in a week if she does not come on.
-
What ever you decide, KNOW that we are hoping for a successful breeding, as we can hardly wait to see what this handsome pair produces!!!
-
It just always goes about my head about twins etc, but then again i worry about the stress of scanning on her, shes a silent stresser.
-
I've had many a mare here scanned and found twins at the first ultrasound (usually within the 15-30 mark), only to have one "disappear" by the second scan at the 3 month mark. Usually, nature takes care of this problem for the little ones. I did have a friend who had twins carried to birth, but usually, one twin is very weak, and in her case, only 1 survived after the 1st day.
Only had 1 mare who had to have a twin "pinched", as she was carrying it at the second ultrasound. So my vet took care of the problem, as she was a small mare, and never would have carried twins to term.
-
Fingers crossed that Goldie has taken :)
-
Still nothing. I'm going to keep her in tomorrow and see how she reacts when she goes back out on Sunday.
-
We'll be waiting to hear! ::)
-
She's in season.
She's too fat I think so I'm going to have her on bare paddock from now. I'll cover her anyway cause what's the harm but I'm not holding my breath for her. she can be banner play thing lol
-
Don't "quite" give up on her yet. You know we have some "hussy" mares who act like they're not bred when they are. Although, I know weight can have a big factor, but as his "play thing" you might find yourself pleasantly surprised in a little while!!
-

I had one of those. Bred my AQHA mare before I moved across two states, USd in foal before moving, get to new boarding facility and she's flirting with anything with a tail, so had her USd again, still in foal, just a hussy; foaled a lovely filly around 360 days.
-
Hope she settles this time/ or she already is!
-
Well no idea what they are at, they have been for all intents and purposes left wild. I've not seen a cover since the first day (June 12th) and have not looked to close to see if shes still in season or anything - just not had the time. They are not killing eachother so let em at it!
-
I had a friend email me, because her stallion just didn't seem interested in the mares she had with him. I just laughed! I had a stallion like that, and never...and I mean NEVER saw him breed one mare. However, every mare with him would be pregnant by the end of the season. Guess he was a bit modest! ::)
-
My neighbour told me last season she saw them at it. He seems to be an evening man, when i'm usually sorting out my big horse. Shes not been following him around and annoying him as much as last time ive noticed though. Ah well. The way i see it, he has company for the summer and if something comes out of it, awesome, if not, he has had company for the summer! I hate the thought of him alone for months on end. they seem to get on well, he doesn't pester her like he did with Charm last year - but shes a much more assertive mare than Charm ever was so it must be the way things are to be. Charm and thriller (both sub dominant) are inseparable!
-
Goldie due in within the next few days. So i will be separating her and banner on maybe monday and giving her a good groom and bath cause she needs it lol then see what she does. I think i have a show next weekend, and she usually comes in season for shows. Its so funny - literally every show i have she is in season over it so if she comes on i automatically look to see where im going to! Lol
-
Nothing yet. I never did get around to seperating them so see if she shows more when put back its on my to do list lol there has been no covering though cause her back end is clean.
-
Keep us posted!!
-
Still nothing!!!!! I seperated them for a while, and when they went back out she did seem in season as in was squirting, winking but kicking out and he was sniffing and testing but no real interest and nothing happened after so i believe it was just temper from her.
However, this is sort of how shes acted in the past when covered but has been scanned empty, so still not going to be screaming from the roof tops. Shes seperated now for good because i can't justify her weight for breeding her, she needs to loose some very seriously now. I will be now treating her as normal, and see what happens.
In other news, Charm will be staying to breed for another year! So look forward to Charm x Banner 2017 edition in a few weeks when she comes back in!
-
Wonderful news on Charm! I am hoping you can get Goldie settled!
-
YEAH!! And Goldie, let's get this done right!!!
-
Still nothing. I will be taking her to the vet with me if Charm does not present in season after her coverings. Not sure if they will be able to see anything this late though, it will be potentially 2 months gone.
-
Well, keep us posted!!!
-
Well the shinanigans have proven successful!
PREGNANT!
Vet was not able to get in enough to get a good photo but we were clearly able to see the back of the spine/tail and back legs :)
-

Yeah.
-
So from what I can read here I reckon it's due around may. I can't honestly say if she covered after June 12th - but considering banner is a very experienced stallion I can't imagine him covering a pregnant mare! So add a few days to June 12th and I reckon based on 330 gestation she'll foal around may 15th :)
-
EXCELLENT NEWS!!
-
Congrats!
-
FABULOUS!!!!!!!
-
OH YAY !!!!!!!!!! :)
Congratulations , I know how long you have wanted a goldie baby for , Im am stoked for you :):):)
-
Thanks guys. I'm beyond myself :) it will not be so refined as Meadow but it will hopefully make a great driving horse. I can't wait to see what colour it is! I'm pretty certain it will be a colt but I will do a ring test for fun.
-
Awesome! That's exciting.
-
Approx 100 days - potentially more.

-
This is VERY exciting, and she looks fabulous!! Such a pretty girl!
-
I just hope the foal does not get her back legs, but its a chance you take. If it has her attitude and willingness to work, it will be a good driving horse anyway.
-
She looks wonderful , she is such a pretty mare , cant wait to see what she is hiding in there :)
-
Awe! Sweet girl!!
-
I'm so much more relaxed this time haha i was literally day counting with Charm, but i don't 100% know when to expect this one so i can't bother counting! I still don't think it has sunk in. I can't wait to see a wee baby though. I miss wee teeny baby Meadow - but i'm enjoying her growing up :D i'm excited to see how she looks clipped next summer.

El Beautiful Poof !!!!
-
How many days is she?
-
Either 126ish or 145ish lol
-
She looks great :)
Excited to see what she cooking for you Hayley :)
-
Had to lob a bit of hair off Goldie - she was warm in the field and exercising it nearly impossible with the fluff! Shes soooooo overweight i feel quite bad now. Will make seeing her belly a bit easier though. Must do a pee test soon to make sure shes holding - weight and babies don't mix well.

-
Well, keep us posted. I'm praying for a safe pregnancy and delivery of a little beauty!!
-
She is a tad chunky, but so is Precious. She is just beautiful, and anxious to hear she is still in foal!
-
How's Goldie doing these days? I'm just getting into the swing of things with the new internet, so I can comment all I like now. Did Banner make it home okay?
-
Yes, how is lovely Goldie going ?
Im very excited for her foal. Im secretly hoping she passes on that wonderful white blaze, but only if ok with you Hayley ;D
-
She's fine :) still fat though.
No haven't quite had the time to get banner home, works been crazy. It's now scheduled for next week hopefully. It's to drop in temperature massively so Goldie should really shiver off some lbs!
-
HA!!!!
-
Goldie today. I swear shes put on weight, despite being out in freezing weather with no feed! Gah. I dread to think what will happen if she has hyperlipodemia.

-
Your heading into winter so always good she carry a little extra :)
One of my mares has a cresty neck like that , shes been on a diet lol
Hi Banner (wave) :)
-
She always got a little extra! I have the smallest land, but the fattest horses. I really worry how it will be effecting her foal. She usually drops a little in jan/feb but who knows. I might clip out the rest of her, and put a light sheet on her so she really has to shiver lol
-
Some mares seem to get fat on air, and then some just can't seem to gain weight no matter what you do.
With winter, I wouldn't worry, just keep her on your feeding plan, and give her time. With the cold weather she may start dropping a little weight!
She's a "hunk" -- but a gorgeous one!!! LOL
-
I had a dream she had a colt, so im pretty certain she will have a colt! Time will tell of course lol
-
Hope your dream comes true and there is a healthy colt in there cooking :)
-
I ditto that!!!! A beautiful, healthy one!!
-
Had to laugh my head off. Went in to Goldie with the pee cup she's come to hate and i said "to avoid this being strapped on just do a pee now" and she only bloody went and did 😂
Pure luck - I wasn't even going to use one on her cause I already knew she was pregnant but couldn't resist when I had such a lovely sample. It's lighter than it looks in the photo so it's midterm which is accurate as she's around 150-180 days.
This is the new cheap P-Test. Its cool! Althoght i have to say i find the weefoal ones more exciting cause you get to watch the pee go up and wait with breath held for a line lol

-
Well, while she's being obedient, anything more you want her to do for you??
Too funny !!
-
Good girl Goldie :)
-
Excellent!
Those are the same p tests I started using, so far pretty accurate!!
-
Think shes lost a bit of weight - very slight!
-
Yes, it's a noticeable difference.
-
Thought i would take some different shots today, and i have to admit i burst out laughing when i looked at the boob shot. Is approx 160 days presuming she took a few days after the last cover i saw which was June 12th - went to pasture and i didnt see them cover again. She was happy to cover, so i am sure it was a real season and not a hormonal thing like i think Charms last cover was might have been!

LOL :)
She looks good and Im sure that boob shot will grow (literally) :)
-
Can deffo feel movement in the lower belly now!

That's great! I love when I can feel the foal move!!
-
Looking wonderful and exciting news about feeling that little one!
-
just shy of 200 days, based on last seen cover.

She looks great! Do you have pictures of her from her last pregnancy to compare to at this stage?
-
She reminds me of a little mare that a friend had. If I still have the picture, I'll post it. [Ok, so I thought she was darling, and took lots of pictures that day.]
-
She looks great! Do you have pictures of her from her last pregnancy to compare to at this stage?
Nope. The only photo i have of her before owning her is a photo with a foal at foot. I have literally no idea what to expect from her, and no one to tell me! At least i had Charms owner last year to let me know things were going as normal! Lol
-

Wow very similar in the head! Wonder if they have ancient relatives haha
-
She's looking wonderful! Love when you can feel movement! Say hello to the little one for us!

Just popping in for updates, and catching up on the threads. That boobies shot.....HAHAHAHAHA! Kind of what I see after I put on that hateful item of clothes each morning...you know the one....the *shudder, shudder* dreaded bra.
According to ladies who have that, aaahhhh, body accoutrement, they're not all they're cracked up to be. Fun when you're young yes. When you get older, they only head south and give you a backache.
-
HA !!!!
-
Is Goldie still very hairy down there-y? I expect she's progressing normally, as we've heard no news to the contrary. I'm touching many of the threads, as I wait for the sun to defrost my paths a bit more before heading out and finishing the morning chores.
-
She's such a pretty girl!!
-
Haha I haven't had a look tbh! I have been so busy. I suspect I might look at her one day and the foal will be half out and I'll be like shit what month is it 😂
I'll attempt to get some photos tomorrow :)
-

OMGOSH!! That was NOT nice....string cheese snorting out my nose!! Next time give me a heads up, woncha??!! ;D ;D ;D
Photos would be nice though, when you can.
-
Well Goldie did not have foalie half hanging out, but does have a slight nosebleed. Naughty pony. She gets these from time to time, never seen to be anything bad though.
She still doesn't have a belly or any boobies but foal is definitely a football player lol

Good News there was no foal hanging out , hope the nose bleed is nothing too serious.
Great to hear the foal is very active :)

Probably depends on what registry, but both AMHA and AMHR have letter/spaces limits on registered names.
I try to get both sire and dam referenced in names, if I can, and sometimes it's a stretch...
Hell Coulee Top O the Morning 2U (Junior - 2012 colt)
Dam: Dakota Legends Dusty's Early Morn (Misty)
Sire: Little Kings Cat on Top (Topper)
Hell Coulee Toppers Full Monte (Monte - 2012 gelding)
Dam: LeMars Maid in Montana (Tana)
Sire: Little Kings Cat on Top (Topper)
Hell Coulee Tanas Spots on Top (Spotty - 2016 appy colt)
Dam: Tana
Sire: Topper
So, I tried with these.
-
I like Rocklone Banners Golden Ticket & Rocklone Banners Gold rush.
I will put my thinking Cap on :)

Lovely Goldie :)
Im very much looking forward to your foal Goldie as I know how much your Mum has wanted this for a looooong time :)
-
DITTO THAT!!!
-
No pic to share but I swear there is a slight swell to goldies udder. Very slight. She's due either early mid April or early may. She's still very overweight so I haven't been giving her anything but a lite balancer but I wonder should I make this a stud balancer now?
-
What's the difference in a stud balancer? Not sure of the terminology. so please elaborate.
-
I believe it has higher calcium and foal type vitamins but is vastly less in calories than a mix or mare feed for condition so good for a fat mare.
-
Sounds like it might be the difference between say: Triple Crown Lite and Triple Crown 30; but I could be wrong.
[TC Lite is probably similar to the lite balancer; and the TC 30 similar to the Stud balancer.]
-
Well i got it anyway, charm needs a bit of condition so it will be useful to put the balancer in a good conditioning feed but then i can also use it for Goldie and Meadow.

Sounds like a perfect feed for well fleshed pregnant mares.
-
Ok heres todays pics, i was slightly shocked to look at the calender and find out she could be due anytime in April, latest is mid May! So her "offical" 330days based on the cover i think she took from is Arpil 16th :O but could also be May 12th.
i still don't think she looks pregnant lol

Shes hiding her pregnancy under all that hair, and the fact shes a maiden she might be carrying a little higher up.
Cant wait to see what she is preparing in their for you :)

Shes not maiden, shes the opposite! She has had quite a few foals. Shes just fat and fluffy lol this is her very last foal.
-
She looks great. Bet she starts to blossom soon!!
-
I know you guys will forgive the horrific clip job but goldies coat is just quite impossible to get through. New blades and new drive and freshly washed but it just doesn't happen. Everyone else clips perfectly so it's not me 😂
March first so I'm officially starting foal watch preparation as she can foal anytime from April. I'll not be setting my alarmthrough the night just yet though lol
I still don't think she looks pregnant!

-
You can at least get your hands on her to check her, LOL. Some mares never really look pregnant, and then there's mine that look like they are when they aren't.
Goldie looks great!
-
She looks like she's got the "low fullness" going on, so she may not look pregnant, but I'm thinking she is!
-
Oh she deffo is I'm just expecting her to pop a belly some day! I'll attempt to tidy her up tomorrow 😂
-
Cant wait for the arrival of Goldies foal, Its been a long time in the making for you Hayley as I know you have wanted a Goldie baby for some time now :)
P.S Loving all the Videos of Jed you post on FB , he looks like such a wonderful horse with a great temperament and personality 8)
-
I was thinking you were questioning the test. LOL
But that low riding belly is a give away.
-
Oh no she was ultra sounded and it is very active I'm 100% sure lol she just doesn't look that much different to me.
-
She looks great and looks like a bit of udder development going on!
-
Oh, she looks pregnant to me. Especially, since she's had other foals, sometimes these ladies carry low and round.
-
Sorry I actually though she was a maiden :)
-
It's nice to be in good company, Ryan!!
-
I, too, am looking forward to seeing Goldie's foal.
-
It's unanimous!! Come on Goldie!!
-
Goldie is already quite loose at the back having had several foals already so i can't tell much from that! I am looking more for a V and boobies and a flush of colour inside.

Absolutely right. These mommas that have produced a few times can sometimes be as confusing as the maidens! She's looking good, and we'll keep watching!!
-
O, she looks wonderful too! Wow, how do you keep her "boobies" (since that's what u call them, ROFLOL) clean?? Or did u give her a quick wash?
Even after washing, ours don't look that clean, LOL - pics of Tory in 2013 -

Looking very good. Such a pretty little momma!
-
Can def see the baby bump now!
-
Quite!!!
My clippers have broken hence the half done look she's rocking haha and I can't afford new ones until next month :(
-
LOL dont feel bad I havent clipped Shadow anymore yet! ;)
-
She is looking very much pregnant in these last photos :)
-
Grrr had a camera failure last night. I was at work and couldn't fix it! I wasn't so worried cause she's still got time to go (well, I'll find out when I get home haha) but I'm going to have to show dad how to fix it. Stress!
-
Back to being just fat :p but noted some butt scratching today.

Some definite swelling this morning?!
-
She does look like her udder is starting!
But then again, I've predicted mine (whose actual cover dates we don't know) would go last weekend and she's still in holding pattern...
-
Udder even bigger this morning :) this is the start of it!
-
VERY exciting!!! Can't wait!!
-
Whoo hoo :)
-
Yay!
-
Just found out I have to go away in may for SIX days with work 😫
Hopefully it's near the end of it but goldie now needs to foal asap! I don't want to leave a pregnant mare I just won't. And I don't much want to leave a very young foal either.
She was very restless last night, lots of fast pacing.
-
Okay Goldie! You have your orders!
-
Fingers crossed she foals soon :)
Good old work, dont they realize pregnant mares and foals come first lol
-
Haha I have to say my work are pretty good. They will try to accommodate me. I'm hoping they make the trip in June rather than may but I don't know. I can refuse to go but I kind of want to go (great money for one) I just have to decide early for booking etc. So I just hope goldie realises this!
She was rested again last night but I think that's her normal behaviour anyway. She's eating A LOT. more than ever. I just hope foal isn't huge so that if I'm not able to get to her in time for whatever reason she foals okay. If I do go away she will be booked into vets or something I wouldn't just leave her with dad. He's very blasé "let nature take its course" type
-
Hope you can get everything worked out!!
-
Im sure everything will be fine ;pray
-
Little Goldie update. Not much to report really, maybe a little looser at the back end and getting a little spongy at the bum, but still no boobies. Either about 291 days or 317
-
I am guessing 291 and shes looking great!!
-
Yes im guessing that too, she must have taken the last time i saw her cover (June 12th was the first day, but i didn't notice a cover after that but have taken it from June 17th)
-
Looking so pretty and good, too!! I'm excited for you....and us!
-
lol just watching Goldie, its 1am and usually im in bed but shes acting odd. She was lying down, and suddely stretched out, looking to the belly. Then she jumped up and ate...as if nothing happened. Then she pawed around and looked generally upset. She looks quite uncomfy though, like anyone late in preggo would. Bless her! Lots of back leg stretching.
-
Had a smallish poo and looks a bit happier!
Do they get a bit constipated? Should i be giving her something to help her bowels?
-
Lying down again and rolling a bit side to side.
-
Still down but just resting hahaha
-
hahahaha same again, full rolling and stretching, then right up and eating.
This is fun!
-
Hopefully you and Goldie are both sleeping now.
I've never had a mare get constipated during late stages of pregnancy , though it could be very much that there is a lack of room in there as she moves towards foaling. So you will see her up and down like a yo yo, rolling, trying to get comphy. :)
-
DITTO that!
-
I know. Settle down Hayley! Lol
Still no boob growth :/ i hope she starts them soon.
-
Pretty Goldie, how nice (and considerate!) of you to start rolling baby into place, so that you can foal before Mom has to travel for work. Good, good girl!!
-
Got a new camera it's now colour again cause the old one broke!
I've been leaving the light on cause it was better for me seeing when the camera was really dark at night. Gonna see how this one is tonight without the light cause I think it sucks having a light on all night when you're trying to sleep no?
-
Great!
-
Is it common for late term mares to get quite sore on the back legs? I think goldies a bit pottery and standing in under herself - she's even pressing her butt to the wall to take pressure off her legs I think :/ why did I ever think this was a good idea 😫 I'm not breeding again lol
-
That butt pushing is perfectly normal. It's actually something I look for, as they are pushing baby into a more comfortable position as the space gets tight. All sounds like she's getting closer and "doing the right things" for getting herself comfortable and baby in the right position!
-
Okay good. I just worried she was getting laminitis or having some stifle problems or ya know..broke her back or something. :p

-
Someones been to the milk bar :)
-
For sure!!!
-
I just wish we could predict when they go lol I hate that I work 24hr / night shifts - at least I have the camera but I really hope to be at home when it happens - she's "due" based on 330 days on weekend and night I work. If she's anything like charm she'll go sooner but it's hard to know. Hopefully she goes on the week I'm off (in three weeks)
I'm also always considering the possibility of a learhal white foal. So if she foals when I'm working I'll need someone to watch for meconium and my dad is not that bothered. I'll try and get him more worried.
Charm also due on a weekend I'm working and I'm pretty sure she will be going on time lol just have to hope it is as happy as it was with meadow.
-
I will do my best to help watch. Keep me updated on her progress and we all have your back!!
-
We absolutely have your back!
Can you repost the cam info, and a phone number where we could reach you if we needed to? You could PM the telephone number and we could share amongst ourselves, just to be sure no viewer of the public forum gets your number, if you'd like.
-
I'd like to see if I can access your video! So cool to check in that way.
Why do you think Goldie could have a lethal white foal? Did she and Banner both test positive for LWO or carry LWO (Frame Overo patterns) in their background/pedigree?
To be lethal white, the foal would have to get an LWO gene from each parent.

No lol but someone mentioned they could as banners got a frame parent and goldie is potentially frame (from splash)
I'm just a worrier about nearly everything :)

Have either been tested for LWO? If either one is negative, you have nothing to worry about. LWO is Frame, and only Frame; it has nothing to do with other white patterns. [There edited to make it easier to read, when I first posted, it ended up in the middle of the quote instead of the end.]
-
As Chanda said, the LWO lethal white is only if BOTH parents give a frame gene. If Goldie is from a Splash parent with no frame, then everything is fine. The potential would only be one gene possibly transferring from Banner. Perhaps your pedigree information would tell you if Goldie had any frame in her background.
Worrying is normal, for all of us, especially as the time grows closer. But I would think everything will be fine...we'll be praying for that!
-
Grrrr camera has went infrared again! I don't know why his keeps happening. It's very light in the stable! But then it was colour again this morning. I give up lol
http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/lewingales+goldilocks
That's goldies pedigree but there isn't much to go by cause it's all Shetland bred and no pics or info. I don't quite understand the frame thingy.
-
I had one that did that, there is a chip inside you can pull out. Or if not comfy doing that put masking tape over the infra red lights :)
-
Ooh that's an idea to try lol I'll do it if it stops again
-
So boobies are filling rapidly I hope there is milk soon. Some elongation happening and dropping a tiny bit. All on track :)

Positive changes!!
-
Positive and PERFECT changes!
-
Yes I'm getting really excited :) she can have it on the 28th I'm okay with that lol
-
Just to put your mind at rest (and I did check her pedigree), she will not carry the frame gene as she is British Shetland bred through and through - many relations to a lot of my old original stock too. ;D
She's a lovely little mare, good luck for a safe foaling.
-
Thank you Anna for your careful checking! That puts all of our minds at ease!
-
Yes it really does. Thank you :)
I expect milk any day now, swelling is just going up by the day. I must clean her udder it's quite dirty.

She's looking GREAT!
-
She certainly is looking great :)
-
Very exciting!!
-
O, pretty Goldie!!
-
310 I think? Lost count lol we have a fair bit of butt pressing, rocking and pacing. Looser poopoos too but it's the grass I think. Still got a bit of loosening to go and could be softer at the tail head. Boobs are down again and still nothing to test but I have them a good clean. I have a contact at the vets who can get me milk as emergency if needed but I think my neighbour should have some. I hope they have colostrum too if I need it.

She is looking good, and I'll be surprised if she doesn't fill that udder at foaling or right after, if not just before.
-
I really hope so, I only have charm to compare to and she had milk for weeks before! still does!!
I'm in good company so to speak (all three neighbours are stud farms) but I'd really like to get some liquid down. I wonder should I be feeding her more stud balancer or anything milky idk. Stresssss!
-
The up & down udder thing can drive us batty!
She looks very good and hopefully she will build a big beautiful udder to give you warning!
-
Charms was not big but it had liquid. I just want something out of the udder 😂
-
Vastly bigger boobies today

She is progressing wonderfully. I havent been on in 4 days apart from catching the occasional pic on FB and she is sure making progress.
-
Yes, she's moving ahead beautifully!!
-
More belly biting and stamping last night but could have been flies.

-
She is looking VERY good, and VERY full!!
-
Udder filling out a bit more today.
How often do they not have any milk until after? I know I'm paranoid but just wondering if I need to get some stuff in standby lol
Edit to add I just asked two people who bred her before (I've no idea why that didn't occur to me before!!!!) and both said she gets rock hard udder but not huge then it softens and fills right before foaling and she's never had an issue with milk coming in. So I feel a bit better about that!
-
Good news!! Now, just be calm! All is good!
-
Well, I see a bit of that telltale eye I've been looking for in that picture from 310. Her forelock is blocking the picture from 315, but I'd sure be sleeping near her if she were mine.
-
318 days - has been rubbing her butt more and snatching and lifting her leg and rocking, udder is fuller every day.

Seeing big progress Hayley. I have a crappy internet connection at home, so most weekends I dont bother trying to log on.
Last two Mondays I have logged on , I can see lots of progress happening :)
-
Goldie is loving her braided tail, its not stopped swishing!
As an aside, i read that a mare with a lax tail end will have zero resistance if you move the tail and shes like that. Then again my gelding is like that too and im pretty certain hes not in foal :)
-
She's moving ahead nicely, but you have a bit of time, I think, as she's got some more elongation to do to let that little one out!
-

WOW! She's moving ahead really nicely!! She looks great, and the shopping is going on!!
-
Looking Good Goldie :)
-
Making great progress!
-
Ok so this morning goldie had two edemas on her belly which is frightening but everyone's saying not to worry (haha have they met me)
He bag seemed to go down now up again Vulva getting looser.
Bit of heat in her feet though so I'm considering removing her from grazing (her deepest joy in life) at least for a few days until I see if she gets sore.
-
I'd go ahead and remove her from grass.
-
Back to normal this morning. No lumpy bits and no heat and moving much better. Foal must have just been lying on her funny! I didn't really sleep last night but she was more restless and rocking than before but then settled after a few rolls and didn't move again but to nibble so she must have shifted it lol
-
Sounds very positive, and good catch on her hooves!
Yes, these babies can really sit badly some times, but the good rolls can help reposition baby and make mom more comfortable! That and some good "butt pushing" :)

-
Moving right along!!
-
Glad to hear she is back to normal . I do agree though to be very careful with her grass intake while this late in her pregnancy. Heavily pregnant mares can bring on laminitic episodes and I think we both agree, Goldies in that category now .
Don't think she needs any grass , she must be full from hanging out at the milk bar. Her udder is filling wonderfully :) ( our local shops, corner shops are called "milk bars" here in oz)
-
My gosh looks like you're having a baby really soon! Looking forward to pics :)
-
We have fluid this morning!!!!!!! Very easily got out and actually squirting not dribbling. So it's not long now! Testing at 8.0 on PH

YEAH! Very exciting for all!
-
Best wishes for a safe foaling if I miss it , home sick and the iPad is being difficult to get along with 😆
-
Have my date to go away with work (28th) so she has just over two weeks to foal. At the rate she's going she's definitely going to make that or be ready just as I'm leaving. Flip sake!
I'll have to rely on neighbours again and dad. I hate this ;(
Had stern words with her though.
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v714/heatcomm/31C94A07-C0D3-49D9-9A9F-F7392C100C4D_zpseynpjddu.jpg) (http://smg.photobucket.com/user/heatcomm/media/31C94A07-C0D3-49D9-9A9F-F7392C100C4D_zpseynpjddu.jpg.html)
-
She's been doing some nice shopping!
-
Colt!
Pics in morning as I'm at work. Typical. Neighbour was at hand though as I was able to see her on Cctv and knew she was in labour.
Hurry up home time!
-
(https://preview.ibb.co/hvGHkk/IMG_2235.jpg)
Suckling well, goldies milking well and he seems okay. Just needs to lie down now, he's not quite mastered that lol
-
Congrats! He's darling.

O, wow! Congratulations.
He's a cutie and look at all that fuzzy hair. Glad that all went well for you, even if she did foal when you weren't able to attend it... Can't wait to see how he unfolds.
Have fun when you are home with him. Looking forward to hearing what you've chosen for a name as well.
-
I feel like I was there cause I got to watch it all real time lol
He is called Rocklone GB Louis Vuitton (Louie)
-
He's FABULOUS!!!
Goldie just didn't want to be left out of "Happy Mother's Day" He's just beautiful, and so glad everything went perfectly!!
-
O, way cool! Did the camera system you used record, too? If so, what a fantastic way to re-watch the foaling!.
Awww, Louie has a cool name.
-
I was able to record it but it skips (it's how I watched it too which was a bit frustrating) but I got to say I made the right choice with keeping the lights on so I could see colour. It was a nice white bag, but very Visible on the camera and I don't think I would have seen that on night vision.
Here is the actual event. Neighbour went in to break the sack but I've cut him out. He then cleaned the stable up (I then made mum go down and take the net etc away lol. She coped very well for a total scardy cat of horses!)
https://youtu.be/mbOI3jpwulk
-
He is gorgeous love the name & happy that all went well :)
-
She was textbook perfect, and so glad your neighbor was there to "let him out" of the sack!!! It looks like he was pretty active even immediately after birth! WELCOME LOUIE !!
-
Super nice colt!! Congrats!!
