Thought I'd start a topic for Belle in the foal forum.
No prize, but Ryan wins, I picked "hell coulee Simply Believe" for her name, hopefully, the registry will accept it. My second choice is "hell coulee Simply Silver Belle", even though it's not Christmas.
No new pictures, but I'll add a couple of the previous pictures here, just so there is something. It might be awhile with this weather for new pcitures, too cold for naked baby. She seems to be doing just fine. She's curious, but not quite curious enough to come all the way up to me on her own.

That quilt you made for me will be put to good use in the next few weeks :) I am an uncle to a beautiful little Niece "Jordyn" 6 weeks early and a tiny 4 pound. She will be in special care for a few weeks before coming home. I am over the moon !!!!

I should have ordered a week or more ago, since I only have one blanket that fits Belle, but I thought it was going to warm up. I broke down and ordered this dog coat, and I hope it'll fit ok, it has Velcro straps so should be adjustable enough.

It snowed last night. Wish I would have had the camera with me when I did morning feed. Belle stuck her nose in a pile of snow, then went to running and bucking and went splat, jumped up and looked around trying to figure out what happened.

Not as bad, but Sophia is still a pretty protective mom, often getting between me and Belle, so I can't change her blanket or check for shedding hair in her eyes.

The adorable dog coat I ordered for her is way too small, so I've put it up for sale on the sale board. It'll cost me postage to return it, so I thought I'd try just selling it for what I paid.

Very good. It's just starting to warm up, so hopefully I can start taming her.

Went out tonight and Belle was on the wrong side of the fence. Don't know how she got out (just into the main mare pen), guessing she laid down next to the fence and got up on the wrong side. It was amazing, but Bliss was just fine around the baby, no problems; and luckily she's old enough that Sophia is no longer a helicopter mom. Only took a couple tried to get her back through the gate and where she belongs.

Still not halter trained, or even started; just don't seem to get it done. Can I blame it on the rain, we've had a fair amount this year.
But, not to disappoint, I did snap a couple pictures while out doing chores tonight.

Nothing on Belle, but Sophia helped unload feed today. I used the wagon to move feed through the 'pasture" to the feed building, and Sophia checked out each bag, pulling two off the top onto the ground. Luckily, they are sturdy bags.

So far behind the eight ball...
Finally gathering what I need to do Belle's papers. Have registration app, work order form, and so-so pictures.
I'm going to try to submit for names:
1. Hell Coulee Simply Believe
2. Hell Coulee Silver Belle
They don't like my prefix, so won't let me reserve it, didn't really try to reserve it; but they made a point of telling me they won't reserve it. I have two quarters horses, 1 paint and 6 previously registered AMHR minis, but the last time they really gave me grief over it. I live in Hell Coulee, my address is Hell Creek Road, it's just fitting that I want Hell Coulee as a prefix; beside HCM is already reserved as a prefix.

Weaning day...
Not quite without a hitch, but Belle didn't seem overly bothered by it, but breakfast and dinner helped. I left her in the paddock she's been in; she's alone at the moment, so I may try Dolly in with her tomorrow and see how that goes.
I decided to try turning Sophia out with the girls, just a few minor skirmishes, but nothing too serious. I do need a couple more feeders for evening mush meal; as I feed it al fresco out in their paddock, so they share. The existing herd shares nicely, but Sophia doesn't quite fit in, yet; hope it doesn't take too long. She could have tried Dolly, as she probably would have shared without hesitation, but she tried all the other girls, and they weren't too keen on sharing, so there was a bit of squealing and kicking to go around. Will need to come up with a couple more feeders, just not sure what I'll use, yet; but we have some half barrel feeders for the heifers, so may just grab a couple of those (or see if Shayne will split one and make two horse feeders).

Belle had her first big girl hoof trim today, so tied and in the barn aisle, instead of loose, cornered in a stall. She did pretty good.

I was impressed, especially since I've been very remiss with her training. :o
She even handled the 4-wheeler going by fairly well, just glad I wasn't holding a foot when it went by. ;)

Well, I don't know if I can follow through, but I have a line on a possible buyer for Belle, her sire's former owner may be interested. I'm talking to the current co-owner of the stallion, and she's the one who mentioned the former sire owner may be interested. I put a decent price on her, or at least it is to me. Belle is a bit small for my program, and I do have plenty of minis, and want to try for a couple more foals, so this may be a best case scenario. [If I can sell her for the price I set, then i'll have money for this year's hay supply without worrying what I need to do to stretch my usual budget plus money for their supplements and feeds. I'm always good for their hay, but it would be nice, to have separate money for their hay and not stretch my normal budget.]

I'm not there yet, haven't spoken with the potential buyer, yet, as everything has been through a third party so far; but we'll see when we get that far, how it goes. [I'll try to be brave and strong. I have no will and it seems little ability to part with horses once they are in my possession. ;) ]
