I am not asking for sympathy, but we have got 17 inches of rain here in three days , more heavy tonite and tomarro. no school tomarro. every street and everywhere flooding. the only thing I have sticking out of the water is the big barn, and the fill around it. This afternoon all at once it rose and the entire property was water .. the pond was gone. My two biggie mares were in the arena barn stalls where the horse trailer is and it rose up and flooded that barn. We walked them out up to the main barn and the water was almost over my big white shrimping boots. I have one MARE in my golf cart shed now. If it gets any worse, I will put all my minnie mares and baby together and bring in Penny. There was no big prediction of this. My horses have not been out in three days and it may be a week or two before they will be out. We have been here 30 years and have never seen it flood so bad. I REALLY SYMPATIZE AND PRAY FOR THOSE PEOPLE IN TEXAS. I know that there are a lot of horses in Texas and it makes me sick to think how they are suffering or worse-drowned. Diane how are u making it?

A lot of standing water and puddles out on the property, but my home here in town is fine, since it has a drainage system. But we're fine, and I'm sorry you are having the flooding. I HATE flooding.
Be safe!! ;pray ;pray

I'm sorry Clara, we just finish prayers for you and you're about to be hit again. Will you have to evacuate this time? I've put you in the prayer book at the mission as well. Please drop us a note when you can, so we know that your family and animals are all safe.

Praying for you as well, Clara. I know Lee County was asked to evacuate, and praying you and those special little ones are safe, and come through this completely intact. ;pray ;pray

Clara, I put a note in the Irma thread, and intended it for you as well. I still see your flooding pictures in my head. 😩😩😩
Please know that I've been equally concerned about you and your family, and your animals. I'll continue to pray that all is well with you too.

Sending lots of prayers your way, as I know the eye is over Lee County now. ;pray ;pray ;pray ;pray ;pray ;pray

Ive just talked to Clara. They came through the storm, the horses are fine, but they have flooding. She's keeping the little ones in a shared stall, because the pastures are full of oak tree leaves, and when let out, they start eating them, which isn't good. They just lost their generator this morning, so they are now without any cooling. They lost one refrigerator and probably 2 others, she said. They have no way to charge their phones, so we kept the call short. But they are taking things slow, as am I, since we are not as young as we used to be.
But I wanted all to know that she's okay, and the horses are okay. Just lots of flooding and clean up ahead.
I'll keep you posted until she can get back on here, but it will be a while, as Lee County took a big hit.
She thanks everyone for their prayers. ~~Diane

Just got a call from Clara. Their power came on this afternoon, so they are trying to take advantage of it and get cool. It's been in the high 90's here, and the heat has really hurt many people with no A/C. I told her to sit and just rest tonight and cool off, and do just a little at a time. There's no rush, as there is so much outside work to do there, and they're still flooded in most of their pastures. So, just a little at a time, as it's so easy to over-heat in this sun.
She just wanted me to thank everyone for their prayers, and let you know her electric was on and they were finally able to start cooling off.
