I'm back from my holiday 4 days early, I just had to get home to see our new little one! ;D
I finally got to have a play with Snickas' new baby Piper, she will be a week old tonight at midnight. She is a very energetic little girl, and I look forward to getting to know her better, so far I've had to bribe her with scratches to get close to her ;)
I still haven't been able to spend much time with her yet as I got home late, but I had enough to snap some pics for you all to see! ;D

Such an interesting butt!! Can't wait until she blows that long foal coat and we can see what's hiding there!!
-
I agree with Diane, those white spots are MIGHTY suspicious....they look like appy spots. I noticed them first thing in the original photo you posted before leaving on holiday. She looks like she's going to have the typical redhead temperament. Be prepared, your easy horse days are over! LOL

She is lovely , Dont be shy with the pictures of her :)
-
You guys have me excited! ;D
Although not so excited for the "easy horse days are over" haha! I sure hope not! :)
She is warming up to us now, and she sure doesn't mind to come right up and lay all over you!

So cute!!!
-
Ditto that !!
-
Look at her sweet little face!

Piper became very skittish for a while and to even get a slight touch was rare as she would just run away as fast as she could.
I found it easier and less stressful just to bring her and Snickas into a small pen when I wanted to interact with her, now we cant keep her away from us, and approaching her is not scary for her anymore even out in an open space. She is also great with her halter.
My Uncle and Aunty came out today with their daughter Lily, who is already crazy about horses, to meet Piper. They were adorable, especially since they are the same height! When Lily is a bit older, my aunt is excited to have her ride Kevin since he is all trained now ;D
-
Oh and this one, she strays off from mum to make her regular visits to her big horse friends through the fence. ;D
-
Those pictures are absolutely so CUTE!!!!
And brave little one saying hello to those "big guys" !!
-
Great pics :) Glad she is warming up to you, some take longer than others. My cousins TB mare dropped a colt last week, he was the same but is warming up :)
-
Thanks!! ;D
I'm pretty in love with her, and her cuddles :)
-
Oh she's really gorgeous Carly and it's lovely to see her interacting with everyone. :)

Piper is just over 4 months old now! :D
She's such a special little girl, so gentle and easygoing :) I gave her a clip today as she was starting to shed her winter coat and was sweating like you wouldn't believe! Poor girl, should have done it sooner. She loved every minute of the clip, had to keep pushing her head away cause she kept trying to groom me, must have felt good to lose it! Had a bath and now shes full of energy lol. Her 1st farrier appointment is this week, shes great with her feet with me, hopefully she behaves for him!
She kept the patterns on her bum so far! I'm so in love with her. :)

She's growing so fast!! Such a pretty little girl, and sounds like she's a "love" !!
-
She's turning out quite nicely, isn't she? I see that she still has the appaloosa patterning on the rump...yippee us! I looked as closely as I could, but the only other characteristic I could see was a bit of sclera around her right eye. No mottling on her muzzle, and we can't see her private bits. She *might* have some appaloosa striping starting to develop on her hooves, in addition to the parti-color pinto hoof. I hope that she makes a positive impression on the farrier when he comes.

Thank you! ;D
Back in November when I was at 'schooies' I stayed in an apartment with friends, it turned out that Toby (Piper's dad) was only 30 minutes away.
I have become quite close to his new owner, Shareen. So I drove to her place and we talked for 6 hours. It was great to see my Tobes again!
But to my point, I was very surprised when I saw him, he had the mottling on his muzzle. Hes 4 years old now and when I had sold him to Shareen 6 months ago he still had a plain grey muzzle. So maybe Piper could as she grows?
1st photo is when I visited him at Shareens. Excuse the rubbing mark from his halter, she didnt realise it was rubbing and took it off when I pointed it out. She treats him like a king!
2nd photo is when I had him, he had no mottling.
