I don't know if I've shared Monte here before or not. Hell Coulee Topper's Full Monte (Topper X Tana).
While not tested we are sure he's grulla with Lp, and no silver. Lp has caused some pretty good color shifting with him.
Check out these pics I just took today. I'll put baby pics in the next comment.

And, some baby pics and yearling, 2-year old pics.

He's grown into such a handsome boy. Definitely Grulla, and that light-up Lp gene is definitely showing itself, especially with that white in the dorsal stripe. Such a neat appearance!! Go Monte!!
-
Put him on FB color group, and they are pegging him as silver grulla (so grulla with the silver gene); but 99.9% certain no silver, just Lp at work.
-
Hmmmm. Not sure I agree with them. I think I would agree with no silver. There just isn't that "silver sheen" that I associate with the silver gene. But silver is hard sometimes.

I think most were basing it his washed out mane that has gone almost completely flaxen due to Lp. If he were silver, he would have been born with a flaxen mane (and tail), not dark. [I shared the adult pics first, then added the baby pics.]
